Role Description The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, posting journal entries, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconciling bank accounts, and ensuring timely closing of books. The role will involve monitoring budgets, analyzing variances, supporting audits, and maintaining compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with operations and management teams to provide financial insights, improve internal controls, and support decision-making. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Candidates should possess skills in budgeting, financial analysis, cost tracking, and variance analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of tax regulations, compliance, and audit support, including coordination with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as strong MS Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
• Candidates should possess attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with finance, operations, and leadership teams.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; professional certifications such as CA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
• Relevant experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within transportation, logistics, or related industries, will be beneficial.
